Our biennial charity show 2024!
Over 200 pupils took to the stage at The Lights Theatre on February 16th, 17th & 18th, ranging in age from 4-26yrs old. This year we have chosen two very worthy charities to support by donating the profits from our show.
The Hampshire Medical Fund purchase cutting edge medical equipment for Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover hospitals. Supplying new equipment and helping it get into operational use as quickly as possible to ensure that the hospitals of the NHS Hampshire Trust are able to care for the Hampshire community in the best way possible. Simon Says, Child Bereavement Support is a charity that provides age appropriate support groups in person, telephone support, advice, training and support via schools and teachers of children affected by bereavement. The offer the opportunity to meet other families who have also been bereaved and host an annual residential weekend for children and young people. We are so proud to announce that we raised a whopping £10,000!! This means that we were able to donate £5,000 to each of our wonderful charities. This money will go a very long way in helping the local communities and both representatives were astonished by the amount raised. This cannot be done without the help, support and hard work of our pupils, parents (both past and present) and all SSD friends so we would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone that helps us put these shows on time and time again.
